Maristella Matera is a full professor at the Politecnico di Milano, Italy, where she leads the Human-Centric Interactive Technology lab (HINT). Her research is centered on the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction and Model-driven Web Engineering, with a particular focus on advancing design methodologies and low-code/no-code technologies for crafting interactive systems. On these topics, she authored about 300 papers and four books. She is an associate editor for the journal ACM Transactions on the Web (TWeb). She regularly plays roles in organizing international events within the domains of Human-Computer Interaction and Web Engineering. From 2018 to 2022, Maristella held the position of Chair at the Italian ACM-SIGCHI Chapter, where she now has the role of Vice-Chair.
She is one of the promoters of the establishment of a new SIGCHI Mediterranean committee, to further foster collaboration and innovation within the global HCI community.
