Penny Papageorgopoulou is a computer scientist, visual artist and new media scholar currently engaged in doctoral research on embodied computing. Her scientific interests include posthumanism, embodied computing, the broader field of human-computer interaction, as well as the design, development, and evaluation of immersive systems. She exhibits a significant teaching experience in vocational schools of computer science, graduate and postgraduate academic programmes. As a visual artist, she works with digital and traditional means for painting and also with 3D modeling and photography. She is a PhD candidate at the Department of Communication and Media Studies of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 2015, she received her M.Sc. in Digital Communication Media and Interactive Environments from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 2008, she received her BSc. in Telecommunications Science and Technology from the University of Peloponnese. She is a member of Spatial Media Research Group.
