Vicky Charisi is a Research Scientist at MIT, Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology and a Research Affiliate at Harvard University, Berkman Klein Centre for Internet and Society. Her work focuses on (i) the impact of AI on human development, (ii) the design of AI systems for human flourishing, and (iii) evidence-based policy support on AI and human rights. For the implementation of her work, Vicky collaborates with industry (e.g. HONDA Research Institute, Japan) and with multiple international organizations, such as the UN, OECD and IEEE SA. Previously, Vicky worked as a Scientific Officer at the European Commission. She serves as a Chair in multiple advisory boards (e.g. IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, Cognitive and Developmental Systems, TF HRI, UN Centre for AI and Robotics etc.) and has published more than 60 academic papers and reports.
