Vasiliki Nikolakopoulou is a Marie Curie Alumni researcher in Digital Cultural Heritage (FP7-608013). She received her PhD from the Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering, University of the Aegean, Greece. Her doctoral research, "(Co)Designing Mixed Reality Experiences for the Enrichment of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Museum Exhibits: Conceptual Framework, (Co)Design Methods, and Case Studies", introduced a four-phased co-design model for creating immersive museum installations in collaboration with community bearers of intangible heritage, cultural heritage professionals and technical experts. Her research focuses on extended reality (XR) with tangible / embodied interaction, and co-design tools and techniques for inclusive and educational cultural experiences. She has co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications, which have received more than 270 citations to date, and has participated in numerous National and European research projects involving e-learning, digital cultural heritage, and human-computer interaction.
