Focalization (as related to the representation of narrative events) is a useful storytelling tool with extensive applications in literature, cinema, and pictorial-representational art forms. This paper explores the concept of focalization in video-games, its various types and how their manifestations converge with or differ from techniques used in literature and cinema. An extended model of focalization is suggested and applied in the analysis of selected video-games from various genres, showcasing the focalization techniques employed in video games as a result of the intersection of related practices derived from the aforementioned media types.
