This paper introduces Splash, a novel social media application designed to support emerging artists through an interactive, community-driven, and gamified experience. Addressing key limitations of existing art platforms—such as lack of inclusivity, content oversaturation, and inadequate support for newcomers—Splash implements gallery-based content organization, location-aware discovery of art spaces and geo-constrained uploading to enrich user interaction and visibility. A human-centered, iterative approach guided the design, followed by extensive evaluation with real users. Gamification mechanisms, including badge-driven progression and participation in challenges, were integrated to encourage sustained engagement and community building. Empirical findings from usability testing, think-aloud experiments and structured interviews, demonstrate significant user engagement, validating the effectiveness of gamification in enhancing artistic networking and participation. The results contribute to the ongoing research in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), social computing, digital creative platforms, and constraint-based design, underscoring the potential of game-inspired interaction paradigms and constraints incorporation in the design of social media ecosystems. Future work includes adaptive AI-driven recommendations and personalized interaction models to further refine user experience and engagement.
